Hello, I'm an American visiting Joinville for the first time. This movement is not new. There are young people everywhere searching for answers. When I gave my life to Jesus he did not only change my life from a Punk Rocker to a Christian but he began the change me from within and then without. I cut my hair. I stop wearing earrings. I stop conforming to Hollywood and punk music. I wanted something different then my sin. But I didn't want religion. I came to find out that God wants a relationship with me and not religion. I gave my life to Christ at the age of sixteen and have never looked back. The problem with churches like Onda Dura is that they appeal to mostly the emotional part of the the human element with only a small portion of real scripture. Let me explain. God say's you must be born again. That means that your whole outlook on life is different. The way you speak and live. The majority of the people I have met that live in Joinville and go to a church, have a form of Godliness but deny the power of change. When asked, "Do you believe in Jesus?" the answer is always yes. "Do you go to a church." the answer is yes. "How long?" "2, 3, 5, and years." But when ask "Are you living clean?" the discussion changes. Most say that they have sexual relationships with people that they are not married to. Some still watch movies and listen to music that Christ would not even listen to. The point I'm trying to make is that this type of religious experience caters to the flesh. Listen, "culture and being relevant should never change the Gospel, The Gospel should always change the Culture." Jesus didn't become a fisherman, a doctor or a lawyer in human terms to try to get his message across. The sad thing always for me to see is a person in there 40's still trying to be hip and talk the talk. When I got saved it was the Gospel that was relevant and real. Not someone trying to be a "Christian Punk Rocker." My church has churches all over the world with young people and older people together in the church services. Young people getting saved and living for God and reaching there generation for Jesus with music of their generation. With the older people being examples and teaching the young to follow Christ to the fullest. The Bible says, "many will fall away that even the elect will be deceived." Jesus was speaking about Christian here. The rise of this kind of churches will only increase. Many, with human philosophy mixed with religion. Listen, every belief system has a little bit of truth, that's what makes it so dangerous. Question: if you were looking for a church and had 4 small kids and your choices were to go to a church with a Pastor that preaches a watered down Gospel but the church had a nursery, a children's church and youth group or to a small church with a strong Gospel message which one would you choose? Enough said.
